University of Nebraska students’ private information hacked.

Published on May 30, 2012.

A security breach has been discovered in the database of the University of Nebraska which compromised thousands of students’, alumni’s and applicants’ personal information.

At this moment, the university and the local law enforcement are investigating. Furthermore, the university has informed students with bank account associated with their account to be alerted.

Unfortunately, alumni students’ information since spring 1985 also was hacked. Fortuitously, an important database (NeSIS) was not accessed by the hackers.
