Saudi Aramco fixes workstations after virus attack.
Published on August 27, 2012.
The world biggest oil producer Saudi Aramco reported a cyber-attack back mid-August where almost 30,000 computer stations were affected with a virus. Fortunately, the production and distribution system were not compromised.
Saudi Aramco announces that the virus was removed from most computers and business has resumed as usually, according to Reuters. However, the main website www.Aramco.com is still offline and e-mails are bounce back to senders.
Aramco is blaming the attack to external sources such as hacktivists, militant group, or hostile governments. The attack is still under investigation.
