Google announced a few months ago that they will improve security authentication for all Google accounts. Today, Google has announces that 2-step verification is available for all users. The 2-step verification feature is similar to the online banking secure process.

Google’s users must enable the 2-step verification from the account settings page which will be available soon. The setting will allow entering your mobile number and a backup code in case you lose your mobile and some other information about you.

For now on, Google users will need to enter their user name and password; then, a secure code that Google will provide to the users via SMS or users can generate themselves with your mobile app on your Android, Blackberry, or iPhone.
The process may take a few extra minutes but it is a strong way to secure your authentication to Google account. However, users will have an option “Remember verification for this computer for 30 days” which allows users not to enter another code for 30 days.
